Jam of the Week: Ten Years After

TYA

Jam of the Week

Artist: Ten Years After

Album: Anthology (1967 – 1971)

Genre: Blues (Revival)

Date: 2002

Sound: Insane Guitar Slingin’ British Blues

Cool Stuff: In light of the passing of guitar god Alvin Lee, I wanted to highlight his band Ten Years After this week. Though the band never reached international fame, Lee did steal the show at Woodstock with “I’m Going Home” (see video above). I’ve never been a big fan of anthologies or greatest hits, but this one is a great career-spanning collection. Not only does it show his unreal abilities with the guitar, but it highlights a great ensemble of musicians that were quite prolific over a few short years. We will miss the late and great Alvin Lee.

  1. Just ordered this cd as I want more than just few songs from a great band. Modern music still produces some great groups but they are harder to find.
