Jam of the Week

Artist: Miles Davis

Album: Kind of Blue

Genre: Jazz

Date: 1959

Sound: Modal Jazz (just to drop some extra music knowledge in order to sound smart)

Cool Stuff: How have we not jammed to some Jazz yet, Planet Earth? I know, I’m slacking, but pull out your Jazz Fingers this week, because it’s about to get wild. If Jazz scares you, this is the album for you. It’s easy to listen to and gets more amazing with each listen (trust me on that one). It’s also regarded as one of the best Jazz albums of all time, actually one of the greatest albums of all time for any genre. It is considered Miles Davis’s masterpiece and features such legends as John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and Bill Evans. Give this bad boy a spin and then tell all your friends how intellectual you are now that you “rock the Hell out of Modal Jazz.”
