logo

Woo-ee, I tell you what Earth. The Mixed Brew today sure was one crazy mix. It was all over the place, yet somehow magically tied together in an epically awesome way. We have Magic Hat brewskies to thank for that, the inspiration behind this mixed brew. See, magic does happen when you drink beer, not just bad decisions, foggy memories, and injuries.

Show #42: Left & Right Hands

logo

We’re back to another mixed brew, sipping on a milk stout from Left Hand Brewery up in Longmont, Colorado. This weeks mix was inspired by Nine Inch Nails, as the band is releasing their first album in five years. The jam was inspired by my fav NIN album, The Fragile, which bookends the mix. Now if you’re scared of Metal, fear not! This mix took a pretty wild turn, not just Metal, but lots of tasty rockin’ tunes too. Beer + Loud Jams = Amazing. See I know how to do math.

Show #34: A Minor Kansas City Boulevard

logo

Beer is good, especially when it inspires rocking playlists. This week was the summer drankin’ flagship Wheat Ale from Boulevard Brewing out of Kansas City. That right there is pretty cool town. All I ever do is eat and drink a lot when I visit, which is always a solid way to go. I should be a travel agent.

Show #31: Summer Bright

logo

Summer is just around the corner, so I grabbed a summer beer for the mixed brew this week. Unfortunately, I wasn’t clever enough to think of a cool summer playlists. However, I did base it on the Jam of the Week, and must say, solid jamtastic Rock ‘N’ Roll was to be had. If you dig killer guitar, you’ll like this mixed brew. If you dig beer, summer, and killer guitar, well then you’ll really be having a party.

Show #28: Fireside

logo

In honor of Ray Manzarek, today’s mixed brew playlist was bookmarked by two jams from The Doors that highlighted the organ player’s awesomeness. In honor of Jim Morrison, I skipped a brew and opted for some good Fireside sippin’ whiskey, though I didn’t get drunk and crazy like him. I basically just made the playlist and then went to bed. That’s what happens when you get old kids. Never grow up.

Show #23: Dry Dock

logo

We jammed to a new series once again with “Mixed Brew,” my attempt at delivering the ultimate in variety (since I do broadcast on a freeform radio station after all). Here’s how it works: I crack a brew (this week a tasty Dry Dock Brewing Co can), start with the Jam of the Week (The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed) and see where it goes from there. The playlist ended up being pretty solid, just like my brew, which works out pretty well. If you ever wondered how iTunes shuffles your tunes, it’s a robot inside the computer drinking a beer. Fact.
