Show #49: Down On The Street

logo

I don’t know why, but randomly this week I decided there are a lot of street songs out there. Songs about streets, with the word “street” in the title, or just mentioning “street” with no real connection. It sounded random and pointless, so naturally I put a playlist together. After test jamming out to the playlist, I decided as random and pointless as it was, it was still pretty awesome. These street songs lend to some pretty epic jamming, so give this bad mamajama a listen for yourself.

Top Ten Woodstock Performances

WoodstockLogo

Yep, Woodstock was pretty epic. 400,000 pot smoking, bongo playing, crazy dancing hippies descended on Max Yasgur’s 600 acre farm to hear 32 bands amidst an air of peace and love. Sure some of the bands to this day are legendary, but it was a collection of crowning moments over the long weekend that defined how we view Woodstock, and some of these bands, today. Over 40 years later, the 1969 festival still stands as the greatest of all time, and here’s why: (more…)

Sorry for the delay in posting the show, but I was a wee bit busy at work yesterday. I know what you’re thinking, “He works?” Rarely, very rarely. Anywho, I know I shouldn’t have done it, but I did anyway. I extended our Woodstock extravaganza to four shows and still have tons of tunes I wish I could play. So on second thought, yeah, I should have extended this bad boy to four shows. Woodstock’s pretty epic. After jamming to this show, you’ll probably agree. It’s more like a hippie-ganza!

Show #37: Summertime Blues

I tried to keep things simple today: It’s summer, let’s jam. Some summer tunes seemed fitting, others seemed a little wild. I tried to get the widest array of genres and mix the order up as much as possible. Mixing things up, that’s how we do it around TRR headquarters (my computer).

Show #30: The American Invasion

logo

The 30th show already? No clever theme related to that fine number, mainly because I’m not very clever. Still, we had a solid show with some epic artists, as we tackled The British Invasion. It was a weird phenomenon where British artists covered American artists, yet somehow these British artists still took America by storm. The white kids in the great US and A had no idea that the songs they were hearing from these bands “invading” the states were actually written and played by artists right in their own backyard. Of course many of these bands went on to reach legendary status like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who, they all came from one place: American music. USA! USA!
