It’s that time again. Yes, it’s time to get fresh and make Will Smith proud. There have been so many new releases, I can’t even keep up. So these aren’t too fresh, but still some quality jamtasticness will be had by clicking on the below links. The jams were pretty Indie heavy, more subdued, a little experimental, but a whole lot of awesome. Maybe you’ll hear your favorite of 2013. So far one of the jams today might be my fav of the year. Show #23: Dry Dock

We jammed to a new series once again with “Mixed Brew,” my attempt at delivering the ultimate in variety (since I do broadcast on a freeform radio station after all). Here’s how it works: I crack a brew (this week a tasty Dry Dock Brewing Co can), start with the Jam of the Week (The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed) and see where it goes from there. The playlist ended up being pretty solid, just like my brew, which works out pretty well. If you ever wondered how iTunes shuffles your tunes, it’s a robot inside the computer drinking a beer. Fact.

Understanding Rap

If you couldn’t tell by the tunes we jam to on the show or the artists we talk about on the blog, I’m not a big fan of Rap. Maybe I don’t like the Rap genre because I just don’t understand it. Thanks to a friendly reader and listener, I was provided with the tools necessary to understand Hip-Hop. As a visual learner, I found these below graphs very helpful in deciphering some very important Rap songs:
